Why I’m Running
I believe that Loudoun County is at a crossroads. We are a growing county of over 300,000 residents, but often times our leaders aren't acting like it. The next Board of Supervisors must confront our growing budget, ensure a quality education for our students while imposing fiscal discipline, and address our incomplete and frustrating transportation grid.
The Dulles District is home to wonderful communities such as South Riding, Stone Ridge, Loudoun Valley, and others, as well as a world class international airport. But at times, it seems like our part of the county hasn't received the attention it deserves. As your Supervisor, I will be a fierce advocate for Dulles South.
I’m running for Supervisor because I want my children to have the best education possible—but not at the expense of our financial future.
I’m running for Supervisor because my work at the US Chamber of Commerce—the world’s largest business organization—has given me a unique and clear understanding of what the business community needs to succeed.
I’m running for Supervisor because I believe Loudoun County needs to build our commercial tax base by focusing on economic development. Our county’s tax base shouldn’t be so completely tied to the whims of the housing market.
I’m running for Supervisor because I am a commuter. I know Loudoun’s current transportation grid is infuriating residents and contributing to their time consuming and expensive commutes.
Finally, I’m running for Supervisor because for the last four years, public input has not mattered to the majority on the Board. From the redistricting plan to the debate over the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance, the will of the public has been ignored.
I hope I can count on your support to be our next Supervisor.
